(Please note boat Spectators board the boats on the opposite side of the river to the runners start line.
***Only 10km runners to register at the George Pub***
RACE NUMBERS ARE NOT POSTED OUT PRE EVENT. PLEASE AIM TO HAVE PICKED UP YOUR RACE NUMBER BEFORE 9:15AM (registration opens at 7:45am) OR YOU RISK MISSING THE START OF THE EVENT. The race starts at 9:45am prompt.
You will then be directed via a one-way system to collect your race tee shirt. Once collected please exit the beer garden area as quickly as possible to avoid congestion and to help everyone be able to get registered before the start. We have well over 500 runners taking part in the 10km.
We are approaching capacity but if we have any remaining places these can be sold on the day from the Runface Black tent and are priced at £30. Please note on the day entrants into the 10km ARE NOT guaranteed a race tee shirt.
Children’s fun Run number collection
Children taking part in the fun run are to collect their race numbers from the white large baggage tent on the Brocas field near to the start/finish area.
Parents/Guardians once you have collected race numbers please write your name and mobile phone number on the reverse of the number before pinning it on. Numbers can be collected from 8:00am and MUST BE collected by 8:50am before the race starts at 9:00am prompt.
Any children that are running the fun run and are also on a spectator boat need to make their way to their respective boats on the other side of the river immediately after they finish. (Please note this is a 10 min walk from the finish line).
Whilst we are getting close to capacity, please check our entries page at www.beattheboat.com and scroll to children’s fun run to see if we are still accepting entries. We may have some on the day entries into the fun run these will be on a first come first served basis and priced at £8.
All Boat Spectators
PREPAID SPECTATOR BOAT PASSENGERS DO NOT GO TO RACE HQ AT THE GEORGE PUB. All boat spectators will head directly to the boat embarkation point on the Windsor side of the river opposite Browns Brasserie. your name will be checked off the list as you board the boats.
***PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU KNOW WHAT BOAT YOU ARE BOOKED ON TO BEFORE ARRIVING ON THE DAY*** We have 5 pace boats 40,50,55,60 and 70 mins and the pace boats will be highlighted with large banners across the side of each boat. It’s important that you queue up for the correct boat.
You can start arriving at the embarkation point from just after 9:00am ALL BOATS MUST BE BOARDED AND READY TO LEAVE BY 9:35am. Boats WILL NOT wait for late comers.
**Refreshments can be purchased on the lower level of the boats but please note that the boats only accept CASH**
Most boats are now full to capacity but check our entries page and scroll down for any last remaining seats at www.beattheboat.com On the day itself we sometimes have some no shows which may free up a few additional places. If you wanted to try and grab a last-minute place you would need to be go to the embarkation point and wait for all pre-paid spectators to board and if we have any spaces available we will have a volunteer in a high viz vest taking last minute on the day card payments from the embarkation point (£12 for adults and £8 for children).

TOILETS
Please DO NOT attempt to use the toilets at the George pub race HQ, we have plenty of toilets on the start/finish field itself. There are also public toilets with large capacity available at or near several town centre car parks including River Street near to the boat embarkation point. Please make sure you go to the loo with plenty of time as the race will start on time and will not be held up for toilet queues.
BAGGAGE TENT
There will be a baggage tent near to the finish line that runners can leave their bags at. Please note that any baggage left is entirely at the owners risk and Runface cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage caused.
COFFEES/TEAS/CAKES AND REFRESHMENTS
We are pleased to announce that our friends at The Ginger Coffee Company will again be selling refreshments and snacks at the start/finish area on the day. They will be set up pre and post run and are really friendly so please do visit them to say hello and support a local business.
We also have an Ice-Cream van to cool you all down on the day.
We will also have just a few remaining Runface tee shirts for sale from our Black Runface tent near to the finish. Sizes are very limited now but come and have a look and pick up a great technical tee-shirt for the price of £10.
PARKING
Please note, there is very limited free parking close to the race venue and we strongly suggest that you all car share where possible. Parking will be your responsibility, detailed guide to Parking in Windsor and Eton can be found via the Parkopedia website. We do not recommend trying to park on the Eton side of the river as the bridge between Eton and Windsor is pedestrian access only, and if the car parks are full, you will have a long journey getting around to the Windsor Side.
The Windsor and Eton Riverside car park is one of the nearest and relatively cheap by Windsor standards at £8 all day at the weekend. This car park is only a 5 minute walk to race HQ and the boat embarkation points. However please note that spaces are limited so please arrive early. There is also a multi storey car park situated at Windsor yards which is approx a 15 min walk to the start. This has a much larger capacity once the riverside car park is full. We recommend you plan your journey/parking well in advance and take into account the location of the Race HQ, Race Start and Boat Access for spectators.
PUBLIC TRANSPORT
A train from London Paddington leaves at 07:47am and arrives at Windsor Central station at 08;28am (after a change at Slough) This station is approximately a 10 min walk to Race HQ and the boats. There is also a train leaving London Waterloo at 07:27am and arriving at Windsor and Eton Riverside station at 0844. The station is a 5-6 min walk from the race HQ and from the Boats. ***Please consult the train timetable nearer the time as we can’t be liable for changes to schedules or anything such as rail workers going on strike ***
HEADPHONES
We politely request headphones are not worn (as per the terms and conditions you agreed to). The health and safety of runners, and the general public takes priority.
OUR DRINK STATIONS
We have 2 drinks stations on course, one just after 4km and one just before 6.5km. We are providing extra water at these in preparation for hot weather. The first table you get to will be a large water table and the 2nd smaller table at each drink station will have prosecco and beer (subject to availability). Please drink responsibly. Any Under 18’s will have their race numbers highlighted that they are Under 18 and therefore will not be served alcohol.
PRIZE GIVING
We will aim to give out our 1 mile trophies for the first 3 boys and girls immediately after the fun run, 10km prize presentation will be as soon as we have confirmed all of our age group winners, but this normally happens at around 11;10am from the Black Runface tent. If you think you may have won a prize please hang around. We also have our first team prize which is the first team to get 2 Men and 2 Ladies across the finish line.
THE FAMOUS AFTER PARTY
As Regular Beat the Boaters will know it’s not just about the race itself. At Runface we love to socialise and our friends at the George Pub and The Watermans arms will again be opening their pubs early at 10:30am to Welcome all of you for some post run refreshments. The atmosphere is always incredible as each spectator boat pulls up and more and more runners join the party. The George will be offering jugs of beers and jugs of Pimms and Ice to speed up the service at the tills.
All of the Runface team, the volunteers and all the marshals from the fantastic Datchet Dashers running club will also all be along immediately after the run to join you. So, if you are a spectator on a boat or running please do come and join us all and continue to make the atmosphere incredible as we do every year. It really is great to see you all in your tee shirts and have a chat post event.
ANOTHER FUN EVENT FOR YOU ALL TO PUT IN YOUR DIARIES
For any runners local to Windsor, we have the Datchet Dashers Summer Relays on Thursday evening the 20th August from 7-8pm. This is a fun event where teams of two people run alternate 1km laps of the course until a total of 10km has been covered. Set on home park with an amazing view of the Castle you can find more details and entries at the Datchet Dashers website. www.datchetdashers.com and click the Dashers’ Summer relays link.
Well done for reading all the information and getting this far. We look forward to seeing you all on the day and at the pub afterwards at Beat the Boat 2026.
